Our Leaders

Madelyn Bernat, a PAES 4th Grade student and gymnast representing Tate’s Gymnastics in Indiana, Pennsylvania, continues to make her mark in the world of competitive gymnastics. This season, she achieved a major milestone by qualifying for the USA Gymnastics State Competition—a championship that welcomed only 23 girls statewide who earned their place through consistently strong performances throughout the season. At the state meet, Madelyn’s hard work and dedication paid off once again as she secured a coveted spot at the regional level.
She is now one of the top 25 gymnasts from Region 7, which includes athletes from six states: Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey, and Delaware. Her advancement places her among the best young gymnasts in the northeastern United States. Among the season’s highlights, Madelyn placed second all-around at the highly competitive Simone Biles International Invitational in Houston, Texas. Where she also had the opportunity to meet Simone Biles (see picture above). She has also medaled at every competition she has entered, including multiple first place finishes.
This Sunday, Madelyn will compete in the Region 7 Championships and is eager to represent both Tate’s Gymnastics and her hometown of Punxsutawney with pride. She remains the only student from Punxsutawney to qualify for both the state and regional competitions this season—a testament to her hard work, talent, and dedication to the sport. With her sights set on success at regionals, Madelyn Bernat continues to shine as a rising star in gymnastics and an inspiration to young athletes across her community.
Students in Mrs. Nancy Forbes' Autism Support Class kicked off our campus beautification by planting flowers in our courtyard as a celebration of Earth Day. Keep an eye out for more campus beautifying by our Beautification Committee!
