Teams of 3rd-6th grade students were selected from Punxsutawney Area Elementary School to travel to the DuBois Area Middle School on Wednesday, April 17th and participate in the annual regional Reading Competition.  Punxsutawney took 4 teams to this competition.  Other surrounding schools participated included Cranberry, Brockway, Brookville, DuBois, and North Clarion. There were 10 teams competing each division.  The Punxsutawney teams brought home the first place titles in both divisions and also a third place title in the third and fourth grade division!

Students from our PAES Wrestling Program placed over the weekend at the Keystone State Championship Qualifier!  They will compete at the PJW State Tournament this weekend in Pittsburgh, PA. We would like to recognize the following students: Frankie Magagnotti, Owen Brink, Noah Burkett, Brentley Maines, Mia Magagnotti, Hope Miller, Bentley Shrecengost, Peyton Toven, Connor Dobson, Cruz Astorino, & Peter Adams.

Punxsutawney Are Elementary School Students competed in a Leader in Me poster creation contest.  Each grade was given one of the 7 Habits of Leader in Me and the students were tasked with creating a poster demonstrating that habit.  One poster was chosen from each grade level. The posters will be displayed in the front hallway outside the cafeteria and main office.
