Punxsutawney Area Elementary School Morning Drop-Off Trial
Punxsutawney Area Elementary School is always striving to improve all aspects of our operations. One area we have been closely reviewing is our morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up procedures. While our options are limited, we are aware of the challenges families and community members experience during these times.
With that in mind, we will be piloting a new morning drop-off procedure on Thursday and Friday, December 18 & 19, and Monday and Tuesday December 22 & 23. Beginning Thursday, December 18, parents and guardians who are dropping off students will be permitted to enter school property starting at 8:15 a.m. and drop off their students. Students will report directly to the cafeteria and remain there until 8:35 a.m., at which time they will be dismissed to their homerooms.
This trial is intended to help alleviate traffic congestion on Beyer Avenue. We would ask that no one is parked or standing on Beyer Avenue prior to 8:15 a.m, when drop-off is permitted. Following the trial period, we will return to the normal drop-off procedures on January 5, while administration reviews the data collected to determine the effectiveness and safety of the trial.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this process. Our goal is to ensure that PAES and its community remain as safe and efficient as possible in all procedures and practices.
